Silence No. 3 belongs to a series exploring the weight of unexpressed language — the things held, swallowed, kept quiet. The surface works in layers: deep brown-black grounds built up with palette knife, a horizontal scar of gold leaf crossing the lower third of the composition.
The gold does not decorate. It marks. A line of something precious surviving through pressure — not triumph, but endurance. The crack lines running vertically through the upper register are intentional: pressure expressed as structure.
